Senior Year Already?I can’t believe my senior year is here already. It seems like just the other day I was the little fish in the big pond. Now I’m finally on top of the food chain. After leaving HSJI, I knew that this year was going to be great. I had learned so many new things during my time at HSJI and I couldn’t wait to use those things in my school’s broadcasting program, Eagle’s News Network. One thing I was a little nervous about was getting a new Video Tech teacher. It was going to be his first year in teaching and I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical. However, he proved me wrong. He’s been a great addition to the Eagle’s News Network. Monday is our "pitch day". We combine our broadcasting class and our video production class and we brainstorm ideas for segments. We take advantage of Tuesday and Thursday to film the segments we had pitched on Monday. Wednesdays and Fridays are spent filiming our broadcasts. Our broadcasts consists of announcements and correponding segments. We have two news anchors that will appear in these broadcasts. The video production class is in charge of filming and editing the broadcasts. Each broadcast we film runs about 3 to 5 minutes long. These broadcasts are filmed during 1st period and are shown to the whole highschool during 3rd period. Learning how to film, broadcast and edit at HSJI has made me a better broadcaster. I feel like I’m one step ahead of everyone. Stay tuned to hear about my exciting opportunity with MyIndy! |
