Lunch with Pro • Monday, July 20

Our Lunch a Pro series continues this week with two guests who have plenty of real-world experience.

Please join Bob Zaltsberg, currently editor of the Herald-Times here in Bloomington with over 24 years experience.  Zaltsberg has been recognized for his ability to successfully lead his newspaper during a time of rapid change, improving circulation of its print and online editions. With more student newspapers moving to online editions, Zaltsberg is well qualified to advise others how to train staff and to make the transition.

Also visiting on Monday is Jim Bright, who spent 32 years as a journalist and public relations professional before returning to Bloomington to teach at the School of Journalism. Bright worked in public relations at Ford Motor Company for 24 years, where he directed more than 300 public relations professionals in North America, South America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and emerging markets. His teams were responsible for corporate communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR), product launches and introductions, product recalls, crisis communications, brand communications, employee and retailer communications, and media relations for one of the largest companies in the world.

Lunch with a Pro provides an informal opportunity for students to "hang out" with and ask questions of journalism professionals. Students may use this opportunity to learn more about journalism careers or to ask advice about college.

Pros will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. in the Wright Quad food court. Look for the tables with balloons.
